Today we went to the shopping centre at Robina and I met Elaine’s friend Lauren and her daughter Brooke who is 12. In Target mum bought me a black High School Musical t-shirt with bling on it. We had lunch at Wendy’s (Shakin’ Dog) and then went to see Kung Fu Panda at the cinema. It was really funny and me and Brooke kept repeating some of the funny lines.
“I’m not a big, fat Panda – I’m THE big, fat panda!”
“What are you going to do – sit on me? – Don’t tempt me!”
When we got home I had a swim by myself then later on I had another one with Brooke.

Sorry I haven’t blogged for a while. I’ve been away on holiday and this is what I’ve been up to!
GOLD COAST DAY ONE
The plane ride was good because we each had our own TV screens (I thought it was a touch screen at first) and could choose our own movies, games and TV programmes. We got a big surprise when we arrived at Brisbane Airport because Elaine and David were waiting right at the gate and took photos of me and Mum as we came out the door.

Elaine gave me a present in the car – it was some cool skates that you clip onto your shoes. We had lunch at Chermside (KFC) and I bought a Hamsterz Nintendo DS Lite game. I was wearing my skates at the shopping centre but I kept falling over so I took them off in the end. Mum spent heaps of money on clothes for herself! Then we went to Ikea, I waited in the car while Mum and Elaine went shopping. They said they were going to be 10 minutes but they were much longer! In the end me and David when inside because a magpie was annoying us and we had afternoon tea in the café. After that we drove home to Elaine and David’s house at the Isle of Palms in Elanora. I had my own room with a computer in it!

Junk to Funk
This is the necklace I made out of some left over ribbons, some beads off an old hair tie and some paper clips which I bent. I wore it to my friend’s place and to the movies today when we saw Narnia: Prince Caspian!
My Pledge
I pledge that I will remind myself and my family to turn the lights off when no one is in the room.
My Reflection
Saturday – Lots of lights were on this morning. I was following my brother around turning off the lights, even the toilet light was on.
Sunday - I stayed at my friend Bethany’s place last night. Bethany sleeps with a light on so we didn’t save much electricity. When she fell asleep I turned the light off which was better. I couldn’t get to sleep with it on anyway.
Tuesday - When I went outside to go to school I noticed my bedroom light was on so I went back inside and turned it off.
Wednesday – After school today I went back up to my classroom to put the laptops away after the Digikids used them. I turned off the lights and the SMART Board data projector while I was there because the classroom was empty.

This Weekend is the Queen’s Birthday, and this is what I have done, I haven’t done much of a ”Celebration” but I am sure almost no one is really. So far all I have done on Saturday I had a swimming lesson and my brother went to ‘High School Musical ‘The Ice Tour” . I went to a cafe and I ate some Crepes with Bacon and LOTS of maple syrup! There was also some icing sagar and boy was that lunch yummy!!
On Sunday we went to Clevedon Farmers Market, and there was lots of stalls selling food, drinks, pottery, plants and I think there was some other stuff too, but my favourite part was the ponys and horses. One of the horses was a horse and carriage! The horse walked down to the end of the street and trotted back! Most of the cars behind us started getting tired of waiting and fed up so we pulled over to let them pass and carried on. Some way through the road in the morrning, before we were there, the horse had heard someone shooting with a gun at a target while it was foggy so whenever it passed the place were the horse had heard it he would slow down and look around, to make sure nothing or no one was there and start trotting again!
Some of the yummy food there was delicious! I had a cupcake, excuse me a vanilla and choclate cupcake, a Bread thing like swirl, but not a scone with cinaman (yum!). I had some orange juice, apple juice and sparkling water. For lunch we had some fried rice with chicken and beef and my mum had the shrimp (which I don’t like), my dad had vegetarian, we gave him some of our chicken because he is not a vegie only eater!
Monday
Well today we just hung around at home, I played with my next door neighbour who is also my best friend, and my brother went to mini golf with dad. Mum worked and helped me with my homework and gave me some tips on inserting a photo. All I could hear was do this, do that, so no not so helpful! And so yah, that’s it really…. hope you did somthing more interesting..

A list of all the animals I have seen at Auckland Zoo, Sydney Zoo and Singapore Zoo:
Lion, Seal, Tiger, Elephant, Koala, Giraffe, Mearcats, Butterflies, Kangaroos, Monkeys, Apes, Cheetahs, Orangutans, Bats, Kiwi, Hippopotamus, Parrots, Rhinoceros, Springboks, Zebras, Ostrich, Emu, Flamingos, Llamas, Alpacas, Wallabies, Otters, Platypus, Wombats, Rabbits, Mice, Fish, Turtles, Tortoises, Spiders, Goats, Camels, Limas.
Advantages for Zoos
- People enjoy visiting animals at the zoo because otherwise they would never get to see some of those animal
- People pay money to visit the zoo so that pays to look after the animals and pay the workers
- If the animals get sick the vet will look after them
- Zoos help keep endangerd animals safe
Disadvantages for Zoos
- Animals don’t like being kept in captivity
- They are not able to live in their natural habitat
- Some animals don’t like people and get scared
I think zoos are good in some ways and bad in other ways. I think it’s good to have some zoos but not too many.
