Homework Week 4

A list of all the animals I have seen at Auckland Zoo, Sydney Zoo and Singapore Zoo:

Lion, Seal, Tiger, Elephant, Koala, Giraffe, Mearcats, Butterflies, Kangaroos, Monkeys, Apes, Cheetahs, Orangutans, Bats, Kiwi, Hippopotamus, Parrots, Rhinoceros, Springboks, Zebras, Ostrich, Emu, Flamingos, Llamas, Alpacas, Wallabies, Otters, Platypus, Wombats, Rabbits, Mice, Fish, Turtles, Tortoises, Spiders, Goats, Camels, Limas.

Advantages for Zoos

  • People enjoy visiting animals at the zoo because otherwise they would never get to see some of those animal
  • People pay money to visit the zoo so that pays to look after the animals and pay the workers
  • If the animals get sick the vet will look after them
  • Zoos help keep endangerd animals safe

Disadvantages for Zoos

  • Animals don’t like being kept in captivity
  • They are not able to live in their natural habitat
  • Some animals don’t like people and get scared

I think zoos are good in some ways and bad in other ways. I think it’s good to have some zoos but not too many.

    Hi George

I love being able to see your homework when I’m at work. It will be great when I am away too and I can see what you have been doing.

Love the photos – specially the one of the butterfly in your hair!

    Hi Georgia,

I really enjoyed your homework about the zoo. You sure did see a lot of animals.
Maybe when you come to visit David & I in Brisbane, we can all go to see some Australian animals in a sanctuary quite close to where we live? We are so looking forward to your visit.
    Keep up the good work.

Bye for now, Love – Elaine & David
