  1. I learned how to use macro and manual settings in Mrs T’s Camera Club.
  2. I have been enjoying reading the first two Artemis Fowl books.
  3. I would like to finish the first two Artemis Fowl books so I can start the third one!

Term 4 Week 3

What if there were no celebrations

  • There would be no public holidays like Labour Day, Easter and Christmas.
  • We would get no presents if we didn’t celebrate birthdays.

Write five questions that have the answer celebrations.

  1. What is Christmas? A celebration.
  2. What is the best day of the year? My birthday celebration!
  3. What is the name of one of the songs by Kool and the Gang? Celebration.

Two Stars and a Wish

Star one – I learnt a cool new trick called the alpha tool in keynote and pages. You get to make the background disappear so that you can use a photo of a person and put it onto any other background.

Star two – I learnt lots about dinosaurs in a DVD called Walking with Dinosaurs. A comet crashed onto the earth – the light was so bright it blinded them and molten rock started flying down from the sky. So all the dinosaurs died.

Wish – I would like to learn more about dinosaurs. Next time we go to the library I can issue some books about dinosaurs to read.

Homework Term 3 Week 4

  1. I enjoyed learning about the rules China has made for during the Olympics.
  2. I really liked designing the Olympic Swimming uniform for homework.
  3. My goal for this week is to play more Mathletics so I get a bronze certficate.

FACTS ABOUT CHINA

  1. Beijing is the capital of China and means northern capital. It used to be called Peking.
  2. Pandas are black and white bears from China.
  3. China is the largest country in Asia.
  4. China’s flag is red with five yellow stars.
  5. The Great Wall of China was built over 2,000 years ago and can be seen from space.
  6. Chinese New Year is celebrated in late January or early February and includes fireworks and lantern festivals.
  7. Mandarin and Cantonese are the two main Chinese languages. I used to be able to speak Mandarin when I lived in Singapore!
